2024
The year of adventures, after dabbling my foot into the world of gravel this year and coming away with a number of notable results (5th at National Champs being the main one) this is an area I really want to target further next year. The planning has already started and things are looking very exciting! Here are just some of the events I am looking at entering next year.
Battle on the Beach
Where I kicked off my gravel campaign this year, winning the night prologue and finishing 2nd in the main event, this for sure is an event that is on my list for next year.
The South Downs Way
I have unfinished business with the SDW, although I already hold the FKT. You may have seen GMBN tried to break my record and hopefully we can go back together next year to go even faster! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d7bVRkJKmE
The Dirty Reiver
What a brutal 'race' that was this year, starting and finishing in pretty bleak conditions it was certainly a testing day out, but that is what gravel racing is all about after all!
The Traka 360
My first experience of Ultra racing certainly made me respect riders who do these regularly. What a day out it was, 2024?
The Gralloch
My first UCI gravel race and lets just say things didn't quite go to plan. After making the front split a lost chain then multiple punctures before finally a torn tyre stopped play. Hoping for better luck next year.
Gritfest
My favourite race of the year, it is 100% on the calendar again. A unique style of racing whereas there are 6 times stages to give one overall winner, winning 4 of the stages and the overall 2023 was a successful one here!
Grinduro
Similar set up to the Gritfest, racing is held over multiple days giving a great opportunity for content as well as plenty of time to play around and have fun. This is not an event I have done before but 100% on my list to do next year.
Pennine Rally
Not a race, but instead a 500km off road adventure from Edinburgh to Manchester I will see this as an opportunity to just ride my bike and have a good way and collect some stories, photos and videos to express just that.
FNLD GRVL
Created by F1 driver Valtteri Bottas this was a race I was sad to miss out on this year, but 2024 lets be having you!
The Rift
Icelands gravel race, surrounded by volcanos and lava fields, I mean just how cool does that sound!
Gravel National Champs
One of my stand out results from the season came at this years gravel champs, finishing 5th elite I can't wait to see what I am capable of next year and hopefully be up there animating the race once again.
MTB Marathon Champs
My first experience of marathon mtb racing was brutal, finishing inside the top 10 elites next years race will be another fun challenge!
2024
The year of off road. This so far is only a provisional calendar but even so it should prove to be a fun year! With multiple countries across Europe and up and down and the UK across a range of disciplines gives the chance of exposure to a huge amount of people!
